Prepare for Hurricane L.T. to Blow Through Your Screen
Ok, ready? Here I go:
Poor LT Features has been treated like a redheaded stepchild for a full week now because I was covering for G.Wills while he was gallivanting around Paris. No, I’m not jealous or bitter… I swear… and sadly I was so busy with Inside Hollywood that I couldn’t write a new post. But I’m free at last and ready to bombard you all with what’s new in LT Features Land.
First of all, I met Ryan Reynolds (and by “met” I mean stared at him awkwardly) at the Press Junket for Buried, which I also got to see a sneak peek screening of. It is always fun to meet celebrities in person, especially when they look like Ry-Ry. I could practically read his thoughts – Ryan was sending me messages telepathically saying that he was going to go home after the Junket to dump Scarlett Johansson and then we would run away together. I mean, you could cut the sexual tension in the air with a knife. Seriously. I’m expecting his call any second now.
Buried features Ryan in a box for the entire duration of the film. There are no other actors except for a cameo by a snake who squirms his way into the box. And can you blame him? Who wouldn’t want to be lying in tight quarters with Ryan?! The film is suspenseful and exciting because it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. One second you’re excited for Ryan, feeling like he is going to find a way out, and the next you feel utterly hopeless. I think the screenwriters drew major inspiration from my dating life.
Ok, next item on the agenda: office hijinks. When you’re cooped up all week working on Inside Hollywood, it is inevitable that something is going to give. In my case, it started when the EPIX offices received two gigantic posters. These posters arrived in two giant cardboard tubes. And, since I have a vivid imagination, I immediately thought we had to use these tubes for something fun. And kids, this is how Office Jousting was born. As you’ll hear me say in the video, the only rule to Office Jousting is that there are no rules. Armed with a tube, a cardboard EPIX shield, an office chair and two “horses” in the form of Dustin and Ben, Maggie and I challenged each other to a duel. It isn’t really clear from the video, but I won…
And last but not least, I feel compelled to inform you all that G.Wills brought me back a sad little chocolate and Tom, our resident technology guru who also happened to be in Europe last week (oh, their lives are so hard!), brought me an entire box of sweet treats. Moral of the story is I have a new best friend in the office.
Stay tuned for more stories from my weeklong EPIX stay-cation. I’m just getting started.
