A December to Remember
Oh, hello December! I didn’t see you there… You really shouldn’t sneak up on people like that. Poof – another month is gone – and the year is quickly winding down. Since I only have a month left to finally break in those 2010 New Years resolutions, I figured I better hop to it. A few of the things I swore to do this year – and these are from the real resolution list I keep in my wallet – are: be patient, be healthier and cut down on the gossip. My co-workers, Leena from the local deli and my Gawker page views can all attest to the fact that I have failed, tremendously, in those three resolutions. Whoops! Luckily I still have 29 days to get my act together and try to redeem myself…
December isn’t all bad though – when I finish wallowing in the guilt of another year’s resolutions totally shot, I’ll be able to focus on all of the great things this month has to offer. Some major Hollywood heavy-hitters were born in December (shout out to Woody Allen who turned 75 yesterday), the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded this month (not sure when my nomination will be announced though), the anniversary of the discovery of the South Pole (which I’m sure you already have circled on your calendar), Winter Solstice (great news if you’re a vampire), and of course December’s biggest holiday, Boxing Day!
Not to mention that December is a good month for all of us over at EPIX; just a few of this month’s new movies include Rain Man, Rocky III-V, Rosemary’s Baby, The Man in the Iron Mask, From Paris with Loveand Happy Tears. Plus, there is some great programming lined up for the holidays including “8 Nights of Woody” and “fXmas” – more on both of those later. Why is this good news for us? Because we can watch these movies all day at our desks while we sip on Peppermint Mochas and claim we’re working diligently on “Quality Assurance.” Oh, and you can watch them too.
What do you like and dislike about December? Any winter traditions that involve roasting chestnuts and settling in for a Godfathermarathon? If so, leave your address in the comments section and I’ll be sure to stop by.
