Kick-Ass is Opening and We’re Giving Away a PRIZE to Celebrate!
Heroes come in all different shapes and sizes.  There are the big ones that some people call hoagies, and the five dollar ones that others call a sub.  I kid, I kid.  Like I said on Tuesday, I’m always hungry, and hunger can find interesting ways to work itself into my blogs.  Anyway, heroes – of the non-edible variety – really do come in different forms.  There are the traditional super-human-powered ones like Tony Stark in Iron Man, the home-grown heroes like Brandon King in Stop-Loss, the folk heroes like the James-Younger gang in The Long Riders and finally, the ones that are a mixture of all three.  Kick-Ass – which opens Friday – is about a bunch of kids who, with the help of some creative costumes, become a crime-fighting gang of superheroes.  Kick-Ass, Big Daddy, Hit Girl and Red Mist kick reality aside (like their lack of supernatural powers – details, shmetails!) and become real-life heroes.
To commemorate the film’s opening, we’re giving away a prize.  That’s right, a PRIZE!  Leave a witty comment explaining who your favorite hero is and why, and you could win Kick-Ass: Creating the Comic, Making the Movie, the incredible book that Derek got at the Kick-Ass press junket (as seen above, blogger not included).  The big winner will be announced on Monday.  I’m looking forward to reading your hilarious commentary – I know you have it in you!

UPDATE April 19, 2010 – A winner has been chosen!  Don’t be jealous, there will be more contests!
