Pot Calling the Kettle Lewis Black
Well kids, the time has come. I have a Lewis Black: Stark Raving Black DVD signed by Lewis himself and despite personally waiting patiently in line to get it inked, I’m just dying to give it away! But, like every gift I send your way, it must be earned. Leave a comment with an answer to the following question and the author of the response with the most pizzazz will have a special treat coming their way.
Ok, here me go. Lewis Black’s stand up acts, shows and books have all had unique (to say the least) names. Me of Little Faith and Nothing’s Sacred were his two books. Taxed Beyond Belief, Black on Broadway and Red, White & Screwed are the titles of some of his comedic performances. Stark Raving Black, his latest performance, is an example of his ability to slyly weave his name into the title. So, what should his next act be called?
I vote for “Black is the new Black,” “Black Listed” or “Black is Flattering On Everyone” (What? It’s true!). Wow, think how much harder this would be if his last name was Jingleheimer-Schmidt. You don’t necessarily need to work his moniker in there, though. Keep in mind his acts have a political theme, so something like “I Did Not Have Sexual Relations with that Microphone,” “Yes We Can… Buy Tickets to My Show,” “Read My Lips – No New Jokes” or “I Took the Initiative in Creating the Internet” could work really well (I didn’t even alter that last one, it’s funny enough on it’s own!)
I’m obviously not a professional comedy-tour-title-giver, so hopefully your ideas will surpass my amateurish attempt at knighting his yet to be created next act.
Remember, there is a FREE SIGNED DVD at stake so break out your best material!
