My Pimp Juice Runneth Over
EPIX has a lot of great movie collections, but the most fabulous theme has not yet been highlighted… Rappers. There are so many rapper-centric films that I now have plans for the rest of the week. Heck, the rest of the month. If you’re looking for me I’ll be curled up on the couch, wrapped in some sort of fluffy pink blanket with my puppy, gobbling down some fro-yo out of my pimp chalice, watching hard core hip-hop artists flex their acting muscles. I bet you saw Diddy in Get Him to the Greek and thought to yourself “oh boy, look at him make the transition from rapper to actor – so innovative!” but boy would you be wrong. Eminem starred in 8 Mile a hundred years ago and now 50 Cent will be in the new film Twelve. Can you say triple threat? (Or at least double…)
Ready for some films you can watch right this second? See Method Man in The Strip Game, LL Cool J in Out of Sync, Snoop Dog in Hot Boyz, Busta Rhymes in Full Clip and Queen Latifah in Hoodlum. Coolio is in Perfume, Stealing Candy and Leprechaun 5: In the Hood– a true American classic. Ice-T is also in Leprechaun 5 (double the trouble!), R Xmas, Tank Girl and Mean Guns. Clearly he was rehearsing for his role as Detective Fin Tutuola – the best television character of all time - on “Law and Order: SVU.”
G.Wills tells me there is going to be a documentary about my boy Tupac. And I thought Notorious was the peak of cinematography! We have so much to look forward to! Now if only Young Jeezy and Pepa could co-star in a romantic comedy…
