Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch…
I missed a couple things while I was away at Comic-Con. For starters, I missed the 4th anniversary of Clerks II, (it came out on July 21st), which is sad because I’m a big fan of Kevin Smith and I’m sure I would have thought of a silly way to commemorate this important day; Maybe hit up my local convenience store or convince one of my friends to be the Silent Bob to my Jay. I’m such a big fan of Kevin, in fact, I’m going to see him on Monday and am hoping to sneak in my EPIX flip-cam and upload some videos to the blog… sneaky, sneaky! I also saw him at Comic-Con, so by now we’re bosom buddies. The 21st was also Robin Williams and Josh Hartnett’s birthday. I’m not surprised they have the same birthday since they’re often mistaken for twins.
The 22nd was also packed with celebrity birthdays. Willem Dafoe, David Spade, Albert Brooks and Danny Glover are just a few of the ones that come to mind (yup, I have every celebrity’s birthday memorized). The 23rd was Marlon Waynes, Woody Harrelson and Philip Seymour Hoffman’s birthday and the 24th was Anna Paquin (who Derek and I also spotted at Comic-Con!) and Jennifer Lopez’s birthday. Feliz cumpleanos!
But, July 25th was the best day of all because I came home from San Diego and got to prepare all of my Comic-Con giveaways (yay!) and because it was the 7th anniversary of the release of Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. I really love Angie, even though she is trying to steal my boyfriend away from me. It was also the 30th anniversary of Caddyshack! How crazy is that? Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that something is older than me (just barely but it still counts) but still think that gopher doesn’t look a day over 27. The 25th was also the premiere of Saw VI on EPIX! Welcome to the family, Jigsaw! We’re… eh… happy to have you. I kid, I kid. After meeting Tobin Bell in person I can say truthfully that Jigsaw is a nice guy once you get past his creepy exterior.
What other special occasions did I miss while in Comic-Con land? German Fest, anyone?
